Is the information on this website medical advice?
No. The articles, illustrations and videos explain eye conditions and operations in general terms. They are not medical advice for you and cannot replace an examination. Every eye is different, and the right treatment depends on your own circumstances. Reading this website does not create a doctor–patient relationship with Dr Chen.
Please talk with your optometrist, GP or eye surgeon about your own situation before making any decision about your care.
What should I do if I have an urgent eye problem?
Seek help straight away if you have sudden loss of vision, new flashes or a sudden increase in floaters, a shadow or curtain across your vision, severe eye pain or an eye injury. Call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. Sydney Eye Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital both see eye emergencies. Do not wait for a reply to an email or message.
How current is the information?
Dr Chen aims to keep the information on this website accurate and current. Medicine changes, however, and some pages may not reflect the latest evidence or every option available.
Can I share or reuse the articles and illustrations?
