This website provides information about Dr Simon Chen and eye care. It does not collect patient forms, medical histories or appointment details. Appointments, referrals and clinical records are handled by Vision Eye Institute (VEI).
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count aggregate visits and page views and measure page performance. The analytics service does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting, and is not used for advertising. The website also loads Google Analytics 4 (the Google tag, measurement ID G-N65KBQB28F) to measure aggregate visits and page views, clicks on clinic phone and appointment links, and the first interaction with an app control on each hosted app page. App events do not include information entered into an app. A link click does not confirm that a call connected, an appointment was made or an app task was completed. Google Analytics is configured with Google signals and advertising personalisation switched off, so data is not used for advertising. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (for example _ga) to tell visits apart; Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. The hosting provider may also process technical connection and security logs, such as your IP address, and set a necessary protection cookie to help keep the site secure.
Maps, videos and other external services have their own privacy practices. The referral page shows a static map image; no map or other external content loads automatically. The directions link opens Google Maps in a new tab. Opening an external link may share technical information with that provider.
Some pages can play Dr Chen’s YouTube videos on the page. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; the video then plays through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube may store information in your browser once playback starts. YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to the video.

Who is responsible for this website?
This website is operated by Dr Simon Chen, ophthalmologist, Vision Eye Institute Chatswood. Personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. The website itself does not collect health information.
Is any information processed outside Australia?
Yes. Google Analytics and YouTube data may be processed outside Australia, mainly in the United States, and Cloudflare, the hosting provider, operates a global network. These providers apply their own safeguards and privacy policies.
How can I stop analytics from recording my visit?
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies and records only aggregate counts. No personal information is sold.
